A number of places have a small display that shows the manual tools of building track and often with a short section of track. These tools include spike mauls, spike pullers, track gages, jacks, etc.

I feel it is just as important to show how the process of building (or maintaining) track was mechanized. There should be no reason that once the utility piece of track machinery has been replaced (or used up) that it could not be made into a static exhibit interprating its use on the railroad.
