Al, we hope that you and Louis can make your way west to the Ohio Central this season. It should be an interesting season on the OC and plans to get even better as the year progresses. Please keep checking their website for further developments. I live in New Jersey and can get there in about eight hours. It is well worth the trip!!!

Ron - you forgot to mention how you always time that 8 hour drive and your arrival just in time for dinner. I would attribute it to coincidence but Moore does the exact same thing coming from the west coast!

I really hope they can get this agreement worked out --- lately there isn't much that can compare to an eastbound trip in the first car behind the 2317 on the DL&W mainline.

The switchback at Little Virginia connected the Erie Wyoming Division main with the Laurel Line. Indeed, it was used to access the L&WV Minooka Branch. This connection allowed the Laurel Line to be switched off the Erie, and not via the tunnel. The operation lasted until the tunnel was reopened.

....your Congressman and U.S. Senators about Steamtown, putting in a good word for their operation?

Kinda like voting in an election...if you don't like what elected officials do, and you didn't vote in the last election, then it seems to me that you do not have a valid license to complain.

Concerning SNHS, since it is a one-of-a-kind NPS unit, letters are appropriate to all elected federal representatives. When TVRM visited there in January, they entire staff pulled out all stops to put together an outstanding day-long program on interpretive and preservation strategies. I sent nearly a dozen letters, including one to the Scranton Mayor, letting him know of the enjoyment and economic impact of just one group of visitors.

Think of the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. They keep their members up to date on federal legislative and budget issues...and this group will open close to 1,000 miles of new trails this year.

On Sat., 4/17/4, the trolley was running, but only partway into the tunnel. The excuse was that it had to stay at least 2 miles away from some possible trackwork!
Red Arrow car 80 was supposed to be ready for service, just waiting for the railroad to co-operate in getting it from the display barn to the main trolley line.
