Justin:

Currently the 2789 is undergoing a slow cosmetic restoration. For instance, the cab was sent out recently and the rusted areas under the windows were cut out and replaced. Currently Hoosier Valley is building an extension on to their shop building so that once the cab is put back on the locomotive, the tender can be reattached (our current shop building is just a bit too short to have the engine and tender coupled together.) We have a complete set of new flues waiting to go in to the Kanawha but will not put them in until there would be some definite place to run her. Until that time comes, she is only being restored cosmetically.

Here in the East, both 4-4-2's CNJ 592 and PRR 7002 have in-frame trailing axles. Their suspensions are similar to 4-6-0's with the rear axle non-driving.
