Thanks John, but those published numbers were rather generalized. Maybe I should have said that we WISH we had those quantities. In reality we probably have no more than 1/2 dozen responsible, trustworthy, astute "less-than-18'ers." Just as most "tourist railways" or "railroad museums", TVRM occasionally struggles to build a base of 'certified operators' from which to draw (engineers, firemen, conductors, etc.) The young man highlighted by the article (Zach Gilmore) is an outstanding mature teenager with a zeal for railroading. He's not a GERF (I think you know what I mean), but has grown up in close proximity to TVRM patiently waiting for the day when he could become active in its operation. This is the kind of young person (or any age for that matter) to be proud of and which we need to attract. Maybe the Chattanooga Times Free Press article will help.
