On a very rainy Wednesday the Central Railroad of New Jersey 1009 passenger car was moved from Phillipsburg to Flemington, New Jersey.

The information that the above RYPN’s provided was right on the money, thanks to you all.

So here are the numbers, each end of the car was 38,000 lbs. and the trucks where 17,000 lbs. each. Once the car was loaded on the dolly’s it went over the road at 15’ 3” height.

As always an expert crew (Jim, Scott, & Chris) from W J Casey Crane & Rigging, Branchburg, New Jersey, makes this look easy.

Also, Lenny from Daily Express Trucking, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, you would have thought he was driving a Yugo.

The Black River Railroad Historical Trust will begin restoration right away in hopes of having the 1009 ready for the 2011 season.

We are always looking for new volunteers for this and other projects we are working on. Check us out at http://www.brrht.org

Howdy Guys; Just wondering how the work on the 1009 is coming along? Is she going to be restored as a CNJ coach or lettered for the BR&W? Have fun - David Notarius, Ex BR&W fireman from the 70's, now in London UK

The 1009 has already had the CNJ logo and the car's new name applied to one side. Image The car looks terrific, and I am looking forward to the other CNJ cars at Black River taking on this paint scheme.
