Update:

Super Chief baggage-messenger #3430 (Budd, Lot #967, 1937) sold in 1968 to Metal Processing Industries (Vinton, TX) is now owned by Arizona Transit Assembly as ATAX #3430 and stored in Mauldin, SC.

#3430 is stored with two other ATAX-owned Budd cars, one of which is NYC twin unit diner #481, and the other is ATAX #2938, which I have not been able to identify.

Should add that the NAMBE was restored and is now on lease to the Austin Steam Train for excursion service.

Diner 1480 scrapped Utica, NY. Working on a date. Do not confuse this car with second NYS&W 508 which still exists and may be a CSX car now.

The previously unidentified ATAX #2938 is also ex-NYC, and is also listed for sale. Interestingly, Randall lists this car as scrapped in 1972 as LIRR #529!

Just to clarify, the Pleasant Valley has been restored to its original name and repainted by the Monticello Railway Museum into one of the several two-tone grey paint schemes it wore during service on the Santa Fe. It's probably the only surviving ATSF lightweight to retain the interior decor and electrical/hvac system (32 volt/steam heat/Pullman Mechanical a/c) in use at the time it came out of service. At present you can tour the interior of the car when the museum is open to the public on summer weekends.
