It's always hard to find official information on this sort of thing, and I am not aware of any official reasons that have come to light. Other speculation by people who wonder about such things has it that those cars were also intended for thru St. Louis-Mexico City service, and the 6 wheel trucks were due to the lighter rail then being used in Mexico. While no doubt the 1949 Budd 10-6's were also used in that service, these center bedroom 10-6s (which were an add-on order to the 9 built for the DZ at the same time) were heavier than the 1949-built cars.

I believe the original trucks to the Eagle View were removed sometime circa 1960's and used under one of the MP heavyweight business cars - if I remember correctly it was the T&P #1. The Eagle View got a set of conventional 4 wheel inside swing hanger tread brake trucks that the MP had laying around at the Sedalia Shops.

What a shame that the beautiful Eagle View - sold circa 1987 by the UP after sitting around Sedalia for years in almost original, intact condition - was butchered and made into a typical PV configuration in the 1990's.

Of the five cars noted that went to Mexico, over the years while in Mexico, at least one got 4 wheel outside swing hanger trucks, and one got the same type of 4 wheel trucks that the Eagle View ended up with.
