The problem that folks like the immediate above poster create for the larger society is that until/unless we get nearly everyone vaccinated the damn disease will keep replicating, mutating and causing endless suffering and death.

I'll be the first to agree that it's REALLY hard to fix stupid.

I do not celebrate anyones death. My point is that if we can't convince the hold outs to get the shot not just for them but for everyone, at least there's less of them each day to keep spreading the disease and I guess eventually the vast majority of them will be gone.

Sad but true. Ross Rowland

Enough is enough! Precisely what in the hell does all this partisan political bickering have to do with railway preservation? Somebody tell me, please. Both sides have run off the rails.

PLEASE! Moderators. Lock this thread or delete it entirely. It's wasting way too many precious electrons!

Thanks!

It has a lot to do with anyone running trains at their museums.
Anyone on a train crew anywhere can tell you stories about passengers going bonkers both ways. It's either hearing conspiracy theories on how they alone are exempt (or how it's all made up and doesn't exist), or others who lose it over someone at the other end of the car (who they wouldn't likely ever catch anything from) not wearing a mask.

Lets get one thing straight. Human interactions are messy. They always have been, they always will be. We get plenty of pleas to lock threads, delete posts and ban members because they dare want to talk about "controversial" issues. We are not going to agree on things and it is healthy that we do disagree on topics that matter.

Now here is some good advice. If you disagree with the direction a thread is going, then you have the free will to NOT CLICK on that thread and NOT READ it. Yes you can do that! You are allowed to not read every thread in this forum. This may come as news to some of you but you have this moderator's permission to skip threads that you find uninteresting or offensive.

This thread is still relevant to railway preservation in that the legality of the mask mandate has just been called into question. We are now waiting for the TSA to rescind the mask order as they comply with the Federal court's decision, so when any of you see that happen, share it here.

"There is no such thing as "natural immunity"".....

Someone really really needs to read up on the history of vaccines.

A scientist by the name of Jenner observed that Milk Maids (Young women that milked the cows daily) did not catch smallpox (very undesirable disease).

Same scientist hypothesized that Small Pox was the same as Cow Pox (similar symptoms in different mammals, he was wrong about that point) and "vaccinated" (actually "variolated", similar to vaccination) a young man that had never had Cow Pox or Small Pox. Said young man never contracted either disease.

Turns out that English Milk Maids from the 1700's did in fact posses "natural immunity" against Small Pox that they acquired from exposure to Cow Pox

That is a condensed version of the early history of vaccines.

General George Washington (US Army, retired) ordered that his troops be variolated against small pox.

Some of this history is actually on the US CDC website (I guess they forgot to delete it yet).

I had Covid in early 2020 before the "expurts" even figured out what it was. I have acquired natural immunity and will not take an experimental ineffective "vaccination" to please anyone. If you are so afraid of the natural world suggest you hide in a box forever.

Again, there is no such thing as "natural immunity" -- you can survive being infected with one Covid variant (Delta), then get reinfected with another Covid variant (Omnicron.)

Reinfection has happened as quickly as 23 days according to this CDC publication from ten days ago:
Centers for Disease Control - Notes from the Field: SARS-CoV-2 Omicron Variant Infection in 10 Persons Within 90 Days of Previous SARS-CoV-2 Delta Variant Infection — Four States, October 2021–January 2022 Weekly / April 8, 2022 / 71(14);524–526

Covid is still a novel virus -- that's why I'm citing current CDC research.

Do you also claim to have acquired natural immunity against the Flu?

For something that does not exist, Johns Hopkins sure did spend a lot of time talking about it.

Natural immunity against the flu is a medical fact. My father and all of his brothers were exposed to the "Spanish Flu" because of their army service in 1918 or because it went through the school system. None of them ever got sick. My Dad's older brothers were co-opted into being medical orderlies and corpsmen because they were the only soldiers in the units that did not even show symptoms, while camps were decimated with the illness.

Call it what you will, but it was what it was.

Lets do a mock conversion, you'll be: "Demose", I'll be "Man".

(Man) What's that you say "Demose"?:

(Demose) "We have electron microscopes that became numerous in use in the early 1960's that could take a photo of a zit on a virus's ass".

(Man) That is correct, and they are even better now, even atoms can sort of be seen.

(Demos) Well, a Virus is made of millions of atoms, so it is easily seen with those things, right?

(Man) Yes, err, uh, it would be. Yes a Virus would be many many times larger than an atom and we could easily see them (virus) with even the oldest electron microscopes, if they were there.

(Demose) What? What do you mean: "if they were there"? Do we have a photo of a virus?

(Man) No.

(Demose) "So what is the round thing on the TV with the red tassles sticking out of it? Its really scary looking!

(Man) That is a: photoshopped, colored, artists rendition, of an "Exozome". Its not some foreign invader. Those things are in every cell inside your carbon based body. Exozomes remove toxic metals from your cells, or they try to anyway, until something stops them. And, not a single photo of anything even slightly resembling a virus has EVER been seen, EVER, with anything, and we could see it if... Demose, starting to think for the first time: vomits..

Enough role play, here:

Research on "Exozome" and what the PCR test was, and what it is not, and its limitations.
Look into the term "mad as a Hatter" and what it meant, and why it was known a 1000 years ago (by your present owners) that Mercury (in the body) killed fertility and also emasculated men. Ever hear about "Falling sperm rates", "falling fertility rates", thats not an accident. When you really start thinking look up all the words for mercury in food and meds, start with "thimerisol".

You do know that your owners refer to you as "useless eater" don't you? Yes, that is what they call you. They believe that you are the biggest threat to them, and that there only needs to be 500 million of you and not the current 8 billion (thats 16 times too many according to them). Please try to prove them wrong, please. Think. You still haven't learned to think yet, not one of you.

So they carved their intentions in stone, in granite, and placed it in 1980, in Georgia. Why Georgia? That along story. They always make their intentions publicly visible, for those who will think, and look, to avoid. The most important things they carve in granite, or other long lasting stone. Those who will not look and think, they dont give a shite about, and you are the 95% that they feel needs to go away fast. So what does it says, on that publicly visible $1 million dollar (in 1980 money), giant set of granite stones? It says: "Take the worlds population down to 500 million", and maintain it in perpetuity, etc..

If the V was real you would need to wear a respirator that looked like a fake astronot suit to stop it, luckily for you its not. And what is a napkin on your face going to do? What is a shot of mercury and MDMA and graphene oxide going to do to stop a V that no one has a single photo of, not one? Think train fans, Think or be the 95%. Its your choice.

If you had measles as a child, you're not going to get measles again -- that is natural immunity.

According to the article I've linked to twice now, CDC has found that people can be reinfected with Covid in as little as 23 days. Ergo, there is no natural immunity for Covid.
Quote:

Second bullet point describes "risk of reinfection" -- if there were natural immunity for Covid, then the risk of reinfection would be zero.

Third bullet point says "A study from the CDC in September 2021 showed that roughly one-third of those with COVID-19 cases in the study had no apparent natural immunity."

It also appears to me that the virus is evolving so fast that the vaccines are becoming less effective over time. My recollection is that 18 months ago the experts were talking about how there would be a different vaccine for each variant, like how the flu vaccine changes each year. The experts do not seem to be talking about that possibility anymore; now they're just saying to get boosted with a fourth dose of the same vaccine.
