I find it intriguing that the call is so universally recognized among a population that mostly has never set foot on a train.

It is apparent to me that "All Aboard" was used as a final call for passengers to board immediately, for the lion's share of the 20th century if not all of it. If a museum removes this from their practices, I would be most intrigued to see the research which supports that decision.
