I think Preston is very right about the long-term prospects of more informal fan groups that do not do much more than meet once a month to watch a program, and maybe have a few group outings during better weather. Those are activities that are going to be among the last to come back, and by the time they do a lot of people's habits are going to have changed significantly.

From our NPR web page. A huge part of the Alaska Railroad's passenger traffic comes from Princess. I don't know if this applies to the White Pass and Yukon, by Princess and WP&Y are under the same corporate ownership.
Quote:
Princess Cruises announced Tuesday that it’s canceling all of its 2020 Princess Alaska Gulf cruise and cruisetours, and won’t be operating its Alaska lodges, buses and trains this summer as it continues to respond to the coronavirus pandemic and its impacts.

Carnival, through one of its subsidiaries, has only a minority interest in the White Pass & Yukon Route. From the WP&YR website:
Quote:
White Pass & Yukon Route was purchased by Klondike Holdings, LLC on August 1, 2018.

Klondike Holdings, LLC is an ownership group formed of majority partner Survey Point Holdings and its affiliates and long time partners based in Seattle along with minority partner Carnival PLC.
Survey Point Holdings provides port services throughout southeast Alaska (including Skagway).
