The way things are shaping up if the S.African variant proves to be almost impervious to the current vaccines we'll be wearing masks for Lord knows how long.

Also, serious talks are now in progress between the CDC/DOT/HS and others about mandating evidence of a negative Covid test ( within the previous 72 hours) to use any public transportation other than local commuter services.

If it goes into effect it will further reduce Amtrak and airline travel significantly.

We're still along ways from being out of the woods.

That should just about kill off the use of public transportation. And local commuter rail is already presently running at about 15% occupancy at rush hours. No wonder they are proposing a 5% "working from home" tax to make up for the lost rider fares.

Just about everybody I know who has a recreational vehicle is using it right now in place of their usual automobiles, in order to remove the need for having to use public rest rooms and avoid having to go into airports, rail and bus stations, restaurants, and motels. And that in turn presents another problem for museums, whether there is access and parking for customers traveling in vehicles that are larger than an automobile.

But looking at the possibility of a full year of wearing masks making travel more difficult, a lot of businesses need to come up with a much more effective means promoting themselves to the general public to counter the added travel inconvenience, or they are not going to exist in 2022.
