His way of "defending" himself was to threaten people with unwarranted but bankrupting litigation.

So now "the gloves come off."

Can confirm.

Click on the moderators' names at the top of the page, none have been here for over a week, one for several years, and if you go to the members list on the right side, the site admin (member #1) hasn't been here since 2017.

Kinda wild that this thread is the most active thread on this forum.

What do you expect when one of the active participants chose a forum "handle" that calls to mind a petulant toddler?

All this talk of Ross Rowland's passing brought back memories of some of the neat things I did with my late Dad when I was a boy and how my Dad took the time and tried to share my interests even though he had no real interest in them on his own. The two fondest boyhood memories I have with him were the day we spent at the Twin Towers (back when they let you up on the roof) and our day on the American Freedom Train when it was in our area.

Besides giving me a memory of a time with my Dad that I will take to my grave, AFT helped cement my interest in all things rail, something I have generally enjoyed for my whole life and have passed on to one of my sons. For that, I will always be grateful.

I feel the same way. I was a teenager who loved trains. my family took me to see the AFT with 2101 on the point. I loved the exhibit and even more the steamer. I didn't know anyone running it but I now deeply cherish that time with my family that was brought to me from a man willing to dream big and was able to succeed enough to make a difference.

This is coming from someone who was fired FIRED as a VOLUNTEER at Steamtown because you couldn't get along with anyone. You apparently volunteered there to sh*ttalk Steamtown, in front of employees, visitors, and even the superintendent and local dignitaries. I am told that you always had a better way of running the park, even though it was not permissible with government regulations. That you never listened to suggestions to shut up or find another place to volunteer, and that as such you were told in no uncertain terms that your services were no longer needed at the park. And now you are repeating that experience here. This statement

Are you psychotic or just a garden variety liar?

The last day I worked, was in October 2018. It was followed two days later by a leg blown up like a balloon and a trip to the ER, which revealed a deep vein thrombosis and a double pulmonary embolism-accompanied by pancytopenia.

My father died in Jan 2019 and ultimately I received a cancer diagnosis in April. Under the circumstances I decided to pass on that season even prior to the diagnosis. By the end of 2019, chemotherapy, followed by remission in March 2020-just in time for COVID shutdowns.

I showed up for one class in 2020, but Steamtown was closed in 2020 and 2021. At that juncture, I decided to hang it up, voluntarily. My brush with a life-threatening illness made me come to terms with my own morbidity and mortality and I reordered of my priorities.

Pro Tip: Never lie to, around or about an auditor. We always have documentation, and you are always revealed.

I have already communicated the story I was volunteered (i.e. I wasn't searching for it, people have simply contacted me to let me know) several years ago to one of the moderators, we're just waiting for him to come back. If you can find a witness that contradicts the story I have been told I would be interested in hearing from them. But I'm not playing any more games with you, the psychotic comment is the clearest sign of psychological projection one could ask for.

You are the one posting calumnious lies that I just disproved. You aren't done playing-you have been demolished.

If you want to plead to dishonesty rather than mental illness, fine by me.

While we often disagree, I can confirm that this sequence of events is factual.

It is possible for both stories to be true.

The moderators still haven't shown up, I hope this isn't one of those boards that is slowly being abandoned.

Sure.

Despite contemporaneous documentation and confirmatory testimony.

If there is moderator action, PMC needs to be removed for abusive libel.

Just browsing the web, I came here to see what people had to say about the loss of my friend Ross. I was astounded at what I read. It seems this site has become a haven for soap opera BS, which I detest.

All of the nonsensical CRAP in this thread is one reason why I have not posted here for years. And I doubt that I'll be back any time soon.

You're an idiot, just look back at all the crap you posted in this thread alone, calling people asses, telling others to STFU, calling another's legitimate concerns bleating. Go away.

You have clearly derailed this thread for negative attention, just as you did with the Bugs Bunny Post. The very fact that you don't have the decency, to apologize after being thoroughly disproven demonstrates exactly what you are.

On yeah I wrote "braying", not "bleating". Jackasses bray, sheep bleat. Why the hell would I write "bleat" when I used the adjective "asinine" and not "ovine"?

As Brian stated, we may disagree on much-but he's demonstrated a regard for the truth-even when he could have very easily said absolutely nothing-and I value that sort of integrity. On the off chance we find ourselves in the same libation dispensary, I'd offer to buy him a sudsy one.

It was much like when Ross took the initiative to call me and converse-allowing us to exchange perspectives. I can't say that one call made us friends, but it certainly allowed us mutual respect and civility and the ability to disagree without being disagreeable.

The man has completed his trip through this realm, and we should say requiescat in pace.
