A few years ago when the Kromer firm was going to discontinue the "Stromy Kromer" with the ear flaps Jacquart Fabric Products bought the rights to the design and the name. The firm is located in the Michigan UP at Ironwood.

The story is the next year they sold several times the quantity the Kromer firm sold in its last year with the design. Many different fabric colors and patterns have been added, Also other garments have been added. And the black "Stormy Kromer" is still made.

I have two of these, a red and black one. They are a regular part of my winter wear.

According to old timers, the proportions are allegedly different on the new-made ones. I don't notice a difference.

As an old timer, I can attest that my proportions have changed. Probably the caps have not.
