Took a trip to the OERM recently, and got to see the amazing collection of locomotives, streetcars, the Red Electrics, etc. A lot of them run too! Aside from the official website http://www.oerm.org -- Very little is mentioned of this museum anywhere on the internet, so I thought I'd share some photos of the steam locomotives they got there. In the gallery, it shows the Mikado, and the Ventura County #2, which ran for the museum on a regular basis, and is currently having her boiler overhauled to current FRA standards. Check it out! http://www.trainweb.org/f40phr231/photo ... moerm.html Link to my homepage... http://www.trainweb.org/f40phr231/ My Photo Gallery (same as link above) no@email.net |

Jason, I agree, she sure looks a lot better than when you got her out of the park! I take it that the next step will be letters and numbers? Ted Miles ted_miles@nps.gov |

Thanks for the compliment there Ted, actually the paint job was just supposed to be quick and dirty, the original plan was not to letter or number it at all, but to concentrate all of our efforts on the VC 2, which, by the way, is scheduled to be hydro tested next weekend. Obviously there has been an interest in putting the appropriate letters and numbers back on it, but I have not had time to research the sizing and placement of the letters. But yes, eventually we would like to get the correct letters and numbers on it, but returning the VC 2 to operation is the first concern. The paint job was done in the downtime on the VC 2 project for the contracted boiler work. Jason http://www.oerm.org ptdrumford@aol.com |
