Good Morning All For those following along, Steamtown's CN 3254 was fired yesterday and moved under its own power between the Shop & Roundhouse last night around 5:30 PM. More testing to take place today... Dave Crosby bing@epix.net |

Great news Doug! Thanks. Was there anything done cosmetically on the engine/tender in terms of paint? Hope all is well with you! Joshua |

It was a busy day in Scranton. The Electric City Trolley Museum's Car #80 was removed from the main museum building and tested on the excursion route. The car will need some "tweeking" before it enters service on a regular basis, but it's good to go in a pinch. Dave Crosby bing@epix.net |

Have they fixed the dash where the 80 and 120 collided at Penns Landing, or does she still have the dents? What else has been done to the 80? I always enjoyed running that car, especially one-man. 80 did not collide with 120 or any other car at Penns Landing or anywhere else while in Museum service. 80 does show evidence of repairs to the ends, presumably from collisions (probably with highway vehicles) while in service on Red Arrow, but these were repaired by Red Arrow and the car was returned to service. I distinctly remember a badly crumpled dash when the car was at Penn's Landing -- it was still crumpled when I visited Scranton about four or five years ago, shortly before the trolley ops started with the 76. The story several of the old heads at the PLT told me was that the 120 had failed to stop quickly enough and had run into the 80, which was stopped at the time (the cars used to exchange passengers at Spruce Street, which is supposedly where the wreck occurred). The 120 suffered considerable damage to its platform and the 80 got the crumpled dash. The South Carolina Railroad Museum mconrad@msmgmt.com |

That sounds like a collision 120 had with 26. There were no injuries. 26 has a heavy plate pilot (installed by Red Arrow)and sustained minimal damage. 120's platform knees broke at the supports and the car has been getting a major overhaul in the Buckingham Shop since then. As far as I know the dings at each end of 80 go back to its days on Red Arrow. Electric City Trolley Museum Association |

With two cars now operable & the new track extension, will Electric City have any special member's weekend photo charters this year? bas1210@comcast.net |
