Did you register using Netscape 7.01?

I tried it out (see post above) using 4.0 and 6.2 and both worked fine, although 4.0 looked weird.

If Netscape 4.0 will work I don't know what won't. Another user even got it to work with 3.3.

I tried 6.2 with the cookies blocked and it still posted fine. You might check your cookies anyway. Whatever the problem, I don't think it's that the phpbb is incompatible with Netscape.

Who is your service provider?

This is beginning to sound like you have to be a Level 3 geek to get into and use the new system, and maybe customize your browser just for this application. Cookies ? Cookies?

Basically, I like the computer but consider it a tool so I can devote more time to railroads, or other tasks. It ought to be seamless and universal just as a hammer will drive almost any sized nail.

How can we keep it simple? And Hume, after all the debugging is done and over with, maybe you need to put together a BRIEF with all the steps needed to log in, register, read, search, arrange, options, etc. I have already lost interest in trying to remember all the suggestions you have given so far in the posts.

Bob Kutella - Hoping RYPN does not become a victim of its own success! Remember the new COKE, a better(?) product that no one wanted or needed?

Hume:

Yes, I did register using 7.01.
ISP is AT&T.

I have trouble understanding why Netscape 3, 4, 6 would work but not 7. And I don't have a clue why cookies are even entering into the discussion.

IMHO, this is getting to be way too technical to make it user-accessible, much less user-friendly. I come here to read about and discuss trains, not cookies or software settings, about which I know next to nothing.

Hmm, now it works. Did you tinker with it?

It's possible you were having login issues which went away when I restored the index page.

As far as cookies, WeBBBS uses them too, and they create problems on WeBBBS also.

Since I am the one who started this whole discussion; I wanted to state that Netscape 6.0 on my computer appears to work fine now. Thanks Hume; for whatever you did to fix it.
