Can someone tell me where Tennant, California is? It was once the site of Long-Bell logging operations in the state. Was it the place where a large abandoned wooden enginehouse still existed a few years ago? Can't find Tennant on my maps or via Mapquest. ryarger@rypn.org |

Several years ago I purchased from USGS maps that covered the SP Cascade Line. The then current issue of the 15 minute Bray Quadrangle dated 1950 still showed Tennant, along with the railroad connection from the SP at Leaf, and the line into the woods east of Tennant. jbwest@att.net |

Using USGS maps on www.terraserver-usa.com, I was able to find Tennant, CA without problem. As I was drilling down to larger scale, the railroad disappeared between the '84 map and the '88 map. The 1 meter resolution aerial photo taken in '98 still shows about fifty or sixty buildings but nothing I could identify as part of the rail operation. Ed ff1044@aol.com |
