What year car is this? *PIC*

How old does a streetcar... er.. subway car.. have to be to be considered historic?

Is this preservation?

How do you put a round paint job on a square car?

Can you make a silk purse out of a sow's ear?

Is Coca-Cola involved?

Will the 1970's sense of style and design return?

Is it bigger than a bread box, or is it just a big bread box?

I'm trying to convince myself that the 3 is the same size as the 1 and 4.

Ex-Washington DC PCC?

Very profound questions. What a terrible fate for a PCC car!

It's not so bad. Considering what we started with, it looks much better.

Every effort is employed to reduce the harshness of the box shape and back-date the car. But when it comes down to the brass tacks, most of the commuters won't give a flip about the appearance when they step into the air conditioning.

Amen! Our Museum considered acquiring one of the Tandy cars, but decided with the body changes and other "enhancements" they were just too far removed from being relevant to our collection. I wish that MATA had used the car's DC Transit number. Oh, well.
