This Maine Eastern paint scheme looks almost exactly like what EMD's styling department designed for the first E unit diesels for the Southern Railway in 1939.However Southern had the white paint simplified to the more familar band and stripe before the first locomotive was built. winklerjohn@bellsouth.net |
