It will be interesting to see the final paint after she is lettered. I thought the Newport only had 44 tonners, or am I wrong??

Post subject:  Steam condition?

Anyone know the condition of the steamers over at Clark's? I would guess that the tests required under the new state regs showed some problems. Any estimate on a return to steam?

The Heisler is fine, just not big enough for the summer loads. Their Climax will be receiving a brand new boiler latter this year and some other work during the off season. She should be hot again next season.

My friend told me this is the first time since he started woking there in the 70's that he hasn't lit a fire in the morning during the summer season (during the spring season they may use the rail bus if the day is slow or for small charters). To help ease the pain, I told him he now has twelve smaller fires instead of one big one.
