Spent the day making video of Steamtown's CNR. S-1b #3254, she made a trip to Tobyhanna, and return with no problems. This is the first successful Steam trip of any distance for Steamtown this year! Steamtown no longer does weekly Moscow trips, plus the 2317 has wheel issues, and is religated to the Steamtown complex. Steamtown did double head the 2317, and 3254 briefly this morning for a runby past the station for the folks to see! Almost like old times. All in all, had a great time making video of the event!

Thanks for the update Ed, good to see one of their steam engines make a successful trip again!

Hello All

Things did go well Sunday with the Tobyhanna trip. I didn't have any official involvement, but visited the Tobyhanna train station and saw quite a few smiling faces. The crowds were there too (300 ish on the train maybe?).

I'd also like to comment on the yard interpretive programs that have been taking place. I made a trip to the yard later that afternoon and saw many positive things happening. The hand car was running, cab tours were being given, scheduled turntable demo's and more were taking place. There seams to be more integration of interpretive programs and operating equipment and visitors seemed to be eating it up.

I've always thought this is where Steamtown can (and seems to) excell. I also believe that the future of Steamtown lies in it's interpretive program in a steam era yard setting. Yes there are (a lot) of issues at Steamtown, but in the midst of turmoil, there are some very good things taking place.

Just a thumbs up for those involved who I know frequent this board.
