Dueling Museums

My brother, his wife and 2year old (the only train-person of the 3) toured Dillsboro Sat morning, then came to TVRM for an afternoon visit. Dillsboro's advantage- Thomas. TVRM's advantage- personal guided tour by member of museum. I've asked the adults for their critiques of both after they have recovered from their trip. Little Bit's views were made known early, "Go back, ride Thomas, see trains.... see Gordon (4501)."

Pardon my ignorance, but what is Dillsboro?

Mr. Coniglio (he's older than I am) is referring to Dillsboro, North Carolina, home to the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad.

ps - to Marty: Nice shot of Huckleberry's #2 in the September issue of R&R (although taken in 1993 by "curmedgeon Boyd"....HIS words, not mine!) Progress report on 464 please.

They are both must sees for different reaons. One thing to keep in mind though........The Great Smokey Mountains Railway is a for profit tourist operation.
