While I'm far from an informed source, those in the know say no. The next engine in the shop after 488, will almost definitely be 489, then the next one to have a good shot is 483. Current thinking is to get out all of the K-36's since they have the most interchangeable parts, and the newest boilers, save 492. 492 could sneak in to the order since it only has 20 years running time on it's boiler barrel and less on it's firebox. The running gear is the same as the 36's, so that's a help as well. There have been pros and cons about the K-37's and what they do to the track, but with the upgrades currently being worked on, hopefully there will be a 37 on line again in the next few years. The current thinking on 463, is that there might be some private grant money available to restore it. Otherwise, it seems to me that it will stay safely stored in Antonito for a few more years ...

They must be REALLY good engines given that, if 483 is overhauled, 9 out of 10 originals will be in service.

What, no pictures of good looking female visitors? Replaced by a big dog that likes to sit on fences? I vote for more pics of Mary Jo from the 5th week of May update :)
