Unfortunately, my copy of the movie is formatted for TV, which I think cuts off either end of the scene. You can just barely see the front of the locomotive as it falls off of the bridge, then disappears out of view before you see the steam explosion. I imagine in the theater, you could see everything. This one pic on my site is the best view of the locomotive as it's falling. Sorry that the resolution isn't that great.

Turner Classic Movies actually has the trailer on their website! Beginning at 2:06 it has several of the train sequences and shows one of the cars falling around 2:26.

Does anyone know if the 1961 Duane Eddy song Ring of Fire had a connection to this movie? Was this the same song that Johnny Cash sang in 1963?

The Duane Eddy song was an instrumental, that came out in 1961. The Johnny Cash song was a vocal, that came out about two years later. The two were not related, but having never seen the movie, I wonder if the Duane Eddy song was used somehow in the movie, made about the same time?

When the subject came up before, it was discussed that the move came out shortly after the Johnny Cash song as a cheap knock-off. It was the general conscious of the posters the movie had little social redeeming value. The date of the posts were from the end of April through about May 3rd of this year. I found the subject lines in the forum search, but the actual text has been removed from the data base.

On your diesel page, you have a couple photos of Cowichan Valley #9 and listed as unidentified. It appears to be a WWII era Whitcomb 65 ton center cab. You can find a picture that pretty much is identical in Jay Reed's "Critters, Dinkys & Centercabs" on to top of page 179. But on the bottom of the page is another photo of the same model and it looks quite a bit different. Whitcomb had been bought by Baldwin in 1931 and continued the Whitcomb line of small locomotives under the Whitcomb serial numbers until the early '50s when the name "Whitcomb" was retired and the small locos were assigned BLW serial numbers.

That would make sense, however the Johnny Cash song came out in 1963 and the movie was 1961.
