Post subject:  Last trip on the narrow gauge

Not positive, but I believe this photo shows the last trip over the Alamosa-Durango section of the D&RGW narrow gauge, at Chama, New Mexico in December 1968. This was a special train operated for the National Park Service, which was considering taking over the line.

I couldn't see the photo, but "Clasic Trains" claimed that the early Dec., '68 last trip was (among other things) the return Westbound to Durango of the cars used for the Eastbound Park Service special.
