Post subject:  NdeM Challenger hoax

There was a picture of a NdeM Union Pacific designed Challenger in the MSN Mexican Railroad site. Was there a NdeM Challenger or this is a inside joke.

Must have been a hoax. The biggest Mexican articulateds were 2-6-6-2s, which came in both standard and narrow gauge sizes.

Nice picture of one on the turntable in Ziel's "Twilight of Steam", so figure it was running as late as 1962.

The 3985 was re-lettered/re-numbered for the Clinchfield excursion but it hasn't ever done any N de M special excursions...nor is it planned...
