Back in the 60's, Ed Alexander, the model builder and author had an 1-1/2 inch scale outdoor railroad as part of his Toy Train Museum in Yardley, Pa.

Are there any old-timers out there that know what happened to that equipment after his death? I am particularly interested in what became of the steam locomotive, a 4-6-2.

Any info?

Thanks.

I'm not an old timer but I do know something about the disposition of the late Ed Alexander's model equipment, formerly housed at his Yardley, Pa., home. One of his locos was purchased in 1965 by Larry Myers, founder of the New Hope & Ivyland RR, who kept it in his office at United Scale Models in Chester. His intent was to set up a model exhibit at the NH&I which never came to pass. I have a copy of a photo of Larry's son sitting on the engine's tender atop a desk in his office. The engine and other memorbilia from the Alexander collection was later purchased by Lowell Williams, an NH&I investor (and M&P Director) who moved part of the collection to Gettysburg, Pa., in the 1970s, where it was set up as the Lincoln Train Museum (which Williams co-owned and co-founded). I assume the collection is still there, though it may have also been purchased by a Baltimore collector (unconfirmed report). Other Alexander collection items (such as his priceless PRR drawings, photos and ephemera) were sold at auction to various and sundry collectors in the 1970s.
