Saturday 8-14-04. Large crowds put each train at near-capacity all day long, resulting in extra platform time between runs.

Freshly shopped #10 (now in WW&F paint) is seen here picking up speed crossing Humason Brook, and trying to keep on schedule!

Just another beautiful day in Maine. :-)

Anyone who has the chance to visit the WW&F should go. I was in the crowd along with my wife and two friends we brought down for the day. The Sheepscot Station and shops are impeccable, the hospitality warm, and the trains are fabulous. Roundtrip riding behind a Maine two-footer, with an authentic train, was $5. How can you beat it? It is a peaceful ride down (not quite) four miles of recently laid track. The balsam scent is tinged with the smell of coal smoke and boiler vapors. What a great restoration.
