Post subject:  face lift at Mid-Continent

Being busy this time of year I don't get to North Freedom very often, winter is my time to volunteer. This last weekend I had the opertunity to deliver a couple of truck loads of rail, as well as walk around a bit. The Soo #2645 and the GB&W #49 both got painted and lettered. My congrats for the effort. It really spruced the place up. Not as much as if both were fired up and running, but for now it is a welcome sight for sure. This work was mostly for the upcoming "Soo Line" convention, but was sorely needed anyway. There are some pictures on the websight, but they don't do the engine justice, it really looks good. Not only are the two steam engines freshly painted, but so are some other SOO freight cars and cabooses. Go visit if you can. Regards, John.
