British Railways Class 37 diesels headed to scrap at the Brush Works in the UK. Faces only a mother could love.

Wow, aren't those the famous "Deltic" diesels (featuring prime movers with a unique triangular cylinder arrangement)?

Go here for the latest on one of the best independent diesel preservation success stories.

The Class 37s were typically nicknamed "Growlers" for somewhat truck-like acoustics. There have been almost as many "Growlers" saved as, say, F-units or Geeps, proportionally speaking--big Co-Co trucks, but seemingly many, many lines in the UK have a 37 shoved aside as a future project or on spec. By comparison, doing the same with a Deltic would sort of be akin to running a Baldwin Centipede or E9 on the Strasburg!
