Taken at their shop in the UK. Apparently one of the Euro Disney locomotives - nice looking machine. I think these were built using the main patterns for Disneyland's first two 4-4-0s in California. http://www.railroadforums.com/photos/sh ... all&page=4 |

Actually this one is the "Jupiter" built for Port Aventura in Barcelona, a Universal-owned park. Michael Severn-Lamb sent me these pictures (there should be 119 pictures somewhere on RRForums as well). There were two built for this park, the other is the "119". They remotely resemble the Golden Spike engines...which is what they are supposed to represent. Disneyland Paris (formerly Euro Disney) only runs one Severn-Lamb locomotive which is the "Eureka", the fourth and last they purchased two years after the park had opened. Tokyo Disney also purchased a fourth locomotive a few years after the park opened, this one being the "Mississippi". The other three Disneyland Paris locomotives were built by a Welsch company called H.P. Phillips, I believe they are no longer in business. These are the "WF Cody", "CK Holliday", and "G Washington". SL has only built, to my knowledge, three steam locomotives (the two Port Aventura, and one Disney) in 36" gauge. -Ed Kelley |

HP Phillips is Hugh Phillips, master mechanic at Ffestiniog Ry's Boston Lodge Shops. I believe the Disney Engines were built there. Boston Lodge has built several locomotives, not least of which are brand new Double Fairlies. |

Did some looking up and yes Hugh Phillips Engineering did build the first three Disneyland Paris locomotives. He had a website, but it is no longer online. Impressive stuff. Thanks for the info. -Ed Kelley |
