Photos taken during a visit to the Evanston, Wyoming UP roundhouse by the Union Pacific Historic Society. http://jonrick.smugmug.com/gallery/187652/1/7121277 And some more here: Note the modern "shopping mall" entrance to the former machine shop, which appears to be now restored. Future of the roundhouse remains unclear, but last reports indicated the architect preferred the interior changed to become a two-story city office building, rather than a place to house and protect some of the 50-odd UP steam locomotives rusting away around the West. http://jonrick.smugmug.com/gallery/187862/1 |
