Post subject:  Oxidized coach paint help

Hi,

We have a smooth-sideed coach that has maroon paint that is starting to show it's age. We've tried some off-the-shelf automotive polish and it brings the colour back quite nicely, but it's a lot of work. Can anyone out there reccomend an industrial polish, or any other ideas or tricks you have used in similar situations. Thanks.

We used to use stuff like Glass Wax floor wax & stuff like that on used cars that we were taking to the auction or sitting on the back row Don't know how that might work for you

Post subject:  quick fix for faded paint

Rub it down with diesel fuel, or motor oil thinned with kerosene. That's what many railroads did. Vasoline works pretty good too, just wipe off the excess. My experience is that the polish or wax solutions won't last too long. The fade will return in no time at all.
