Of this photo taken at Illinois Railway Museum, emulating those the CB&Q took of its Zephyrs when they were new.

Perhaps not sadder, Budweiser.

(sorry for the atrocious pun)

And that's what Railway Preservation is all about! Splendid train! All it needs are some vintage autos: '47 Chevy, Studebaker, woody wagon etc. for a complete timewarp. IRM did an LP album cover many years ago featuring a North Shore train and a 1930 (or thereabouts) Chevy. At OERM we can replicate 1955 Bellflower, CA with PE "Blimp" 418 and a Perris subdivision; looks like a page out of an Interurbans Special. Then there's Bay Area's Rio Vista Jct., with authentic interurban track under wire again. Wait until SN1005 is running again! Just a few months ago we had Santa Fe 3751 steaming to San Bernardino in triumph, to be admired and photographed only a few dozen yards from where she once sat forlorn, a cold relic in a city park.

That photo was the cover for an album put out by the West End Jazz Band (I think they may have had a different name then), which is still around - their website is http://www.westendjazzband.com/home.htm and among their upcoming events is an appearance at IRM on Sunday and Monday of Labor Day weekend. Just a couple of weeks ago, in fact, one of our Chicago streetcars spent the morning filming a video-taped recreation of the scene you mentioned for a music video WEJB is supposedly going to be making (though I don't think you'll see it on MTV).
