Post subject:  Work for throttle time at Portola

Upcoming work sesion at the Portola RR Museum in California, with full-time participants given throttle time in exchange for work:

Greetings listers, This is going across a lot of lists, my apologies for those on multiple lists and getting it multiple times.

October 9-17, The Portola Railroad Museum is having a major work week, among the projects that need to be completed are:

1) Completion of the dodgepole siding. (located at the south end of the museum between the 7 switch and Milward Switch, half of it is done)

2) Other trackwork as directed by the Roadmaster and Yardmaster of the PRM

3) Complete the interior of the Silver Debris as the future crew lounge

4) Completion of the extension of the Deck between the Silver Debris and the current deck between the Silver Shower and the Edenwold (Crew sleeper)

5) Completion of the Disabled access ramp up to the Deck

6) General Clean up as directed.

If you can help during this weekend, the PRM can offer: Sleeping arrangements in the Edenwold or caboose if you so choose. We have 2 refrigerators that are available for use, there is a microwave available as well. Plus a toaster oven.

But the BIG thing I am authorized to put out on the lists and boards is that ANYONE who puts in at least 5 days, we will fire up a locomotive and give you throttle time on the balloon.

If this is something you would be interested in doing, then please contact me, If you want to utilize the lodging mentioned, then I especially need to hear from you as the spaces will come and go on a first come first serve basis. So please advise as soon as possible if you can and are willing to come up and help us out.

thanks for reading
