A friend of mine in the Netherlands has been researching the history of steam locomotive exhaust design for several years. He has been trying unsuccessfully to get a copy of an old Railway Gazette magazine article on steam locomotive exhaust systems by Don Sweney. There is a copy of the magazine in the Library of the University of Illinois at Urbana. The call number is Q 625.05 RL, it is probably volume 27 JA-JE (1899). The article is by Don Sweney, at the time one of the graduate students, on page 428-429 of the June 16, 1899 issue of Railway Gazette. If anyone has access to the library and would be willing to copy or scan this article, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Thanks in Advance |
