Dave, man you guys and gals do great work there at the Brooklyn roundhouse. Chris did a super job of recording all of you at work, something the fans never see and take for granted. Doyle gets to run that beauty because Doyle does tons of work on her. She looks great. I loved the AFT scheme, but heck, she belongs in Daylight, and as long as a crew like yours takes the pride that they do in this great machine, I don't care what color you bring her out in. I hope I can get some shots to contribute to the "Future photo" spaces.

I understand she's leaving Brooklyn at about 7am on Thursday. Is this still the schedule? I'm hoping to drive by and take some pictures for my site when it takes off.

What's the route it will be taking to leave Portland, so I can get some drive by shots?

Yes, From what plans have said, a departure from Brooklyn around 7:00am and an planned 9:30 am departure from Vancouver, WA. Subject to possible change.

4449, will be leaving Brooklyn, on UPRR and be switching over to BNSF for the rest of the deadhead move.

A good place in Portland might be around Lakeyard, some main roads run along the BNSF Main line. After that it will be heading up the Gorge on the BNSF side, many miles of roads with the rails near by, but be prepared for alot of other people chasing in that area.

Otherwise, good luck and great work to the 4449 crew and all others who have helped to get the 4449 to where it is today.

So, the planned route is over the Steel bridge to Lake Yard and then over the Columbia River to Vancouver and east on the BNSF? Sounds like it should be pretty easy to follow. Will it be under it's own power for the entire run to Spokane and pulling any cars? Thanks for the info, by the way.

Yes it will have some passenger cars on the deadhead move, water car, tool car "Yes Dear", crew sleeping car. Might have another car or two, I haven't heard.
