Boyd: Where will you be in Minnesooota? We're always looking for streetcar drivers here in Minneapolis at the Como-Harriet Streetcar Line or at our other demonstration railway in Excelsior, on the south shore of beootiful Lake Minnetonka. Send me an e-mail if you are interested and we can meet and talk. Como-Harriet will be operating on weekends through the end of october and we plan on running into November as long as the snow isn't too deep. Thanks! |

what is insubstantial about them? What is insubstantial about them is they are links to online articles that frequently are only there for a few weeks, days, or in some cases even just hours. Somewhat ephemeral..... The term flimsies, I believe, comes from the flimsy pieces of paper that train orders were written on, which too were short lived affairs time wise. "REAL" railroaders (at least one anyhow) have told me that is a foamer term and the REAL railroaders didn't call them flimsies, they called them train orders. Also been told the term relates somehow to newspaper articles, but I don't know the defintion in that context. |
