Somebody probably knows the answer to this, but I surely don't. Both Wes Barris and I list a 2-truck Heisler as being displayed at "Rogers Lumber" in Ferriday, LA. Rogers Lumber is long since out of business and now owned by J.M. Jones, Inc. of Natchez, MS (about 10 miles from Ferriday, I'm told). In any case a call to the Ferriday Chamber of Commerce revealed that "I ain't see hide nor hair of that thang in a good while". I took this to mean that the locomotive is gone. A chat with J.M. Jones manager elicited about the same response. So.......... does anyone know where is locomotive went? Here follows a link to it on my website: http://www.steamlocomotive.info/vlocomotive.cfm?Display=542 |

Doug; Ferriday, Louisiana is in the middle of nowhere, so I have not been by that one yet. But, multiple reports I have recieved over the years indicate that it is still there. It is stored inside a barn, and is privately owned by an elderly lady. Unfortunately, that is all I know. Perhaps someone else in this region can help you some more. -James Hefner Hebrews 10:20a Surviving World Steam Project |

Last I heard, it was still stored in a shed there. Ferriday, Louisiana, in incidently is the hometown of Jerry Lee Lewis. |
