Many thanks for the excellant photograph of the A3 and A4 at Darlington North Road Works! A number of years ago, the shops were demolished and a replaced with a supermarket!!! For some unknown reason, none of the A1's were preserved. At present, at a spot close to where the works stood, a group is BUILDING an A1 from the wheels up! When rolled out, possibly next year, the locomotive will carry the number of the next number in the class series!!! |
