Did these units ever work in the west?

Any photos available?

Thanks -

Jim

A quick round of research finds that for the MOST part, especially in their later years, they were concentrated in Texas and New Mexico, for the same reason most RRs concentrate their motive power of a particular builder--concentration of spares and mechanical know-how. I certainly can't rule out their assignment in California or Arizona, but I'm not finding any photographic proof other than DS4-4-1000 2260 now stored in Sacramento as part of the CSRM stash.

Thanks for looking. That appears to be true - but - it wanted to confirm. How about "early years"? Any other info available for anyone?
