Post subject:  Speaking of turntables...

The ongoing discussion about the turntable in Jim Thorpe, PA, reminds me that I just noticed that while CP Rail's ex Milwaukee Road Bensenville, Illinois roundhouse is now gone, the turntable is still in place. This has to be at least a 100' table, long enough to turn the MILW's S class Northerns. I have no Idea if it is still in use or not, but when it becomes surplus it would be a rather easy one to move, being in the middle of a huge parking lot directly accessible to a street. Time to get your letters in now.

CN informs me that they have two turntables availalbe for disposition. One is in Ft. Dodge, Iowa and the other is in Freeport, Illinois. Sorry, but I don't know the length, type or condition.
