At the Chicago RR Fair in 1948. This was actually Warren & Ouachita Valley No. 1, from an Arkansas shortline that the CR&IP absorbed in the late-1940s. As they had scrapped all their older steam power and needed an "old time" looking engine for the Fair, they traded a Whitcomb 44-tonner for the 4-6-0, which arrived with a wooden "dining car" sporting an elaborate paint job. By the 1950s, the engine was renumbered No. 9 and usually stored in the stone roundhouse at Herington, Kansas. Its last outing under steam was in Oklahoma, about 1958. Sold to a private owner, it moved to Mid-Continent about 1966, and operated there for some years. It and the car are now displayed at another site in Wisconsin.

The dining car, which may or may not have been an actual dining car in real life.
