Last week I was at Steamtown on a beautiful fall day. I observed a white block truck, (with no lettering) with two men with coveralls working or doing something to the ex-Reading T-1 parked along the driveway there. It appeared that they had authority to do so, as several Park Personnel were present in the area also. Any one know what they were doing?

Perhaps checking the air pressure in the tires?
Just a guess.

A better guess would be a preliminary survey for asbestos abatement.

I heard they were getting ready to repaint her after her boiler explosion.

Lest any reader be misled if they come across this thread out of context, Robert is being sarcastic in reference to another thread. There is/was no boiler incident in connection with this locomotive.

For the sake of easing the traffic in the moderator's in-box, could we please not refer to boiler explosions any longer unless we are discussing a real boiler explosion?
