A bit of news about the Burlington station in Omaha, from the Burlington list:

In the Omaha World Herald yesterday, a story on the front page announced
that Omaha's Burlington Station has a new owner as of Nov. 1. A lady
named Myriel Boes has purchased the structure for $650,000. As it
stands now, the building is an empty shell, but the article said that she
received '6 truckloads of pieces' with the building. Among the pieces
are 4 chandeliers that were removed in the 1980s and later restored,
which she intends to incorporate in the redeveloped structure.

She intends to renovate the building into condominiums, restaurants and
shops, along with a spa and gym.

Let's hope she's successful in breathing some new life into this grand
old building!

As I recall, Amtrak uses the platforms from this station with a cheaper to maintain little building as its station. The UP station is across the tracks.
