It's really nice to see this kind of thing happening. When the transit system in the Boston area (MBTA) rebuilt the commuter line up to Newburyport, MA (NBPT), a ten mile extension, they built a very nice brick station at the end of the line in "NBPT" and used architectural elements from Boston's South Station in the design. And recently I've noticed a new station in Woburn MA, on a different leg of the MBTA system, which has a very nice quasi-retro look to it.

These sure beat some of the old shelters which have been nothing more than bus stop-style plexiglass boxes.

Is this a national trend?

Note here the new station is said to be patterned after the Rico, Colorado depot of the Rio Grande Southern (the original was wooden, however), which has been available in several model scales for years.

This is an extremely arttractive building, and looks like a genuine historic station. Here in Saratoga, we also have a new $6 million station, but while replete with amenities, it lacks a historic look.
