Check out the Castle Graphics site for a large collection of steam and other photos, many in color. A whole bunch of CB&Q photos just added, mostly in storage at the end of steam, including some that survived.

Q 0-6-0 510 was initially preserved at a hotel in French Lick, Indiana, but later cut up when it began looking a bit shabby. Anyone have a photo of it at the hotel in the 1960s?

Bob,
Thanks for sharing the site.....the "Q" shots are particularly interesting to me. Beware of some of the photo captions, though. The shot of 4-8-4 #5614 was taken at Lincoln, NE. There would have been little reason for an oilburning O5 to be in Minneapolis (except for fantripping 5632). One of the front 3/4 shots displayed of 5632, captioned as taken in 1964, is at Galesburg, IL. There is a "Q" GP20 lurking in the background. Thanks, again.

Compare the shot of 2-10-4. #6316 in this collection with Ron Ziel's detailed photoessay of her scrapping in his monumental first book, "The Twilight of Steam Locomotives". THis collection is a treasure! Great find, Bob.

Hi, I'm the owner of Castle Graphics, thanks for plugging my site!

Don, I certainly welcome any corrections to photos, but let me state one thing...all photo captions have been taken off of the back of the photos that I have. That doesn't mean they are right, of course, but if you see something that you feel is wrong, please let me know why you think that.

Cheers!
