Post subject: Fostoria, OH Jackson Street Tower

The former NYC Jackson Street Tower in Fostoria, OH is still in existence. This building was built in 1927 and housed the first GRS CTC machine in the U.S. It is abandoned but still in good shape. I go by it quite often on our C&O freights to Toledo, and have been thinking that the structure is worthy of preservation. A friend is helping me do some inquiring with CSXT about the possibility of acquiring the building and land for preservation. I don't know what will come of this, I hope that we can stimulate some interest in Fostoria area railfans to make this a success if CSXT will cooperate. The building is brick and would make a nice little gathering place for the many railfans that visit Fostoria every day.
Its worth a try, at least.
