From the CB&Q discussion list, it looks like Burlington 4-8-4 5614 has a new shelter built over it, in the Pattee Park in St. Joseph, MO. http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/cb ... yahoo.com/ |

Post subject: | $%#@*& Yahoo |
Bob: I certainly appreciate your contributions to this board on a daily basis but I am frustrated to get a inviting lead to a "Q" 4-8-4 only to get a pop-up to join yet another of your many Yahoo groups. Isn't there a way to get around this for the Interchange? Perhaps these kind of "bait and switch" messages could be used on the "Flimsies" section where many of the newspapers require an additional account set up. Moderators, what do you think? Thanks Scott |

Sorry, but they work fine for me and I don't know how to circumvent joining the groups. When you join, you can select the no e-mail option if you choose. I'm a member of about 75 groups and have no problem with spam, etc.. My feeling is that if someone went to the trouble to post the photos and I want to see them, I'll go to the trouble of joining that group. I well remember the L&RP days when obtaining photos often took months if you could get them at all, so taking five minutes to join a Yahoo group is no bother to me. |
