Sometime this weekend, schedule not yet determined. The servers that host www.steamlocomotive.info will go offline for transportation to our new datacenter in downtown Minneapolis. Total outtage should be less than two hours.

Our new datacenter is wonderful: Dual, multihomed OC-12 connections to the internet backbone (about 1.2 terabits/second available), secure facility with biometric access (proximity card and thumbprinter), three 1 Megawatt autostart/autochangeover generators, and 450,000 watts of battery backup.

I wish I could say we owned the whole thing, but we've leased space and bandwidth in an outstanding facility that will let us continue to grow in a comfortable way. We have 5 seven foot equipment racks in a secure cage in the larger datacenter.

In any case, you should see great improvements in response time from www.steamlocomotive.info (as well as the other 1000 or so websites we host)
